My bf and I live together (we both split rent and amenities cost). The apartment has a pool which had been great for the summer.

My bf’s brother moved nearby and my bf gave him his keys when we were out of town so he could come over and use the pool if he wanted. No problem.

But when we were back, I noticed someone had watched a bunch of my Netflix. Weird. I thought it was my bf but he said he never watched those shows and he was me the whole time. I look at my other accounts like Hulu and Apple TV and saw a dozen movies and tv shows have also been watched include shows I was currently watching had been finished.

I thought was hacked and quickly logged out everything and reset but it turned out the brother after pool day had entered the apartment to shower then sat on the couch and binged watched multiple shows on my account (logged onto the tv) in the apartment. We were out of town for awhile so he had come over multiple days and stayed in the apartment apparently. There were also leftovers in the fridge and things moved around.

I asked my bf if he knew and he said no, he should be only outside at the pool but I said evident by the food and the hours of episodes watched, it was multiple days spent in the house as well. I told him I was uncomfortable someone stays over in also my space without me knowing and a bit rude to use someone’s streaming platform and finish shows they’re watching (I didn’t even remember what episode I stopped at).

In general, I was uncomfortable that the brother didn’t even tell my bf and a bit rude. It felt also quite violating to return home and someone be inside your apartment without you knowing. I told him to reach out and ask what’s happened and expected an apology. Instead I got a fit and the guy calling me names like being selfish and overreacting.

I told him if he can’t apologize he can’t use the pool anymore. I mean, I’m paying for it, not the brother. Why does he get to throw a fit and enjoy the water? Honestly if he just apologized and we talked it out, I would have just made him an account in my Netflix or something and just said “next time use your own to profile” but he didn’t.

I know I’m putting my bf in a hard place but I also don’t believe I’m the root cause of any of these issues here. AITA?

TLDR; bf’s brother came over into the apt without permission. We gave him access to the pool while we were out. When I found out (through tv watch time lol) he got mad and threw a fit. I said he couldn’t come use the pool anymore until he apologized for overstepping and not letting us know prior.
